CALIFORNIA-ARIZONA-NEVADA - LORAN-C OPERATIONS

LORAN stations in Middleton, Calif. (9940-X), Las Cruces, N.M. (9610-X) and Jupiter, Fla. (7980-Y) will be on air testing the LORAN DATA CHANNEL (LDC) uninterrupted until further notice. The test broadcast will use pulse position modulation of a ninth pulse added 1,000 microseconds after the standard pulse group. Throughout the test period, the signal will meet all service performance parameters published in the 1994 specifications of the LORAN-C signal. Users should not experience any tracking errors or service interference from this test broadcast. Users will be notified of any changes to the test schedule and when the testing is complete. Marina del Rey to Promote America's Waterway Watch

MARINA DEL REY - The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department in Marina del Rey will soon be more active in the America's Waterway Watch program, as officers begin to educate boaters and harbor residents about this new homeland security effort. America's Waterway Watch is a combined effort of the Coast Guard and its reserve and auxiliary to increase homeland security by giving boaters and others on the waterfront a fast and easy way to report suspicious activity they may witness.

The following items from the Coast Guard District 11 Local Notice to Mariners Weekly Edition are new or have been updated since Nov. 2:

SAN DIEGO BAY - CONSTRUCTION

Straite Engineering is installing finger piles from a waterside crane, commencing on the B Chevron Pier, Embarcadero Wharf, Broadway Street Pier, Fish Harbor Pier, Crosby Pier and Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal B through Dec. 28. The crane barge performing this work and all tugs towing the material and equipment barges to and from these sites will monitor VHF-FM CH-16.
